it’s beginning to look a lot like Halloween…
By Labor Day this year, I could tell my kids were going to be realllllly into Halloween 2019. I’m not sure if it’s because they love to watch Vampirina? Maybe because they are old enough to have a lot of opinions on their costumes? Could it be the overly decorated yard a block over from us?
I really don’t know. But Tom can’t even go a few hours without wishing someone a Happy Halloween. If we correct him and say it’s not Halloween yet, he says “okay happy Halloween season!” It’s usually directed at the one month old.
It’s “Happy Halloween, Henry!!” every morning 🙂
Sam is super into The Monster Mash this year after hearing it at school. So we painted the monsters from “The Monster Mash” and it turns out they all have at least 20 googly eyes.
Tom is dressing up as Big Foot at his own request, but he is so petrified of the furry fabric I bought to make the Big Foot costume that I wonder if he’ll end up wearing it. He would not allow me to bring in the bag of fur. Now every time we walk by he says”will you protect me from da Big Foot hair?!!”
I just love their ages and know these years fly but so I want to document our Halloween here with pictures.
We still want to squeeze in pumpkin carving, vampire cookie decorating (Sam’s request!), and maybe Boo at the Zoo before Halloween is over!
I had two door mats…you would not believe how happy they were that the entrance to the back door got some Halloween treatment. It prompted them to decorate their own clubhouse with my leftover decor.
It was basically Christmas morning to get these action figures and cups out with the decor! I am definitely storing them for another year instead of letting them lose their luster in the play room til next Halloween.
I have always kept holiday books up with the decor just due to space. We have so many regular books that there is no room to mix the seasonal options in year round. It’s great because I put these out and it’s another Christmas morning scenario!
My absolute Halloween favorite is Room on the Broom. I also recommend Seven Orange Pumpkins (younger toddlers). Let me know your favorites because I’d love to add to what we have.
A few weeks ago we went out on an impromptu search for Halloween jammies and we stayed out after bedtime on a week night. Pretty wild, I know 🙂
This last picture is our Keenz (post about the stroller wagon here) ready for trick or treating. Thanks to Aldi for the $2.99 lights! My kids are over the moon pumped about this thing. Okay I’m just as excited…
Now if I could just get the costumes made we’ll be ready.
