“outdoorsy” Easter basket inspo

I almost let the blog go for good this week. And after trying to write this post all week, maybe I should have…

The me who started a “mom blog” back in March of 2018 (yes–FIVE years ago) was a different kind of busy than the me I am today.

Back then I had two toddlers and dreams of another one. I was definitely busy, but those crazy days with babies really are different. It feels surreal that I am far enough away from them now that they are starting to look like the good old days. At the time I felt like I was up to my arms in bath water, drowning in diapers, and cutting grapes in half til I couldn’t see straight. But, in hindsight, I was also home every night without much to do other than be home and all my babies were tucked in bed at 7:30pm. So I blogged.

These days are different. There are no diapers and the kids can brush their own teeth and even feed themselves. Our youngest barely needs me at bath time. But….we spend our nights studying for spelling tests, taking AR quizzes or doing class projects. Travis runs one to kid to one sport and I run another to a different one and absolutely no one is tucked in bed at 7:30, but we might start dinner around then. I’m forever on the hunt for a pair of uniform pants without a hole at the knee. So….I don’t blog.

The beauty of it all is the knowledge that this wild time with not so little but “middle kids” will be sitting so fondly in my rear-view mirror in maybe another five years.

Back to Blogging?

Well, I must get motivated in March because it was March 2018 when I launched this blog, and therefore it was March when the annual renewal came around to pay for my domain. And while it is most definitely still a busy season for our family, one with less home time and later bedtimes, I felt motivated.

So here I am–I signed up for another year and I’m excited to put some new content out like it’s the good old days!

One of my very first blog posts ever was about Easter, so, what better to get back to it than another (updated) Easter basket inspiration post.

I give you….”outdoorsy” Easter basket inspo. Fitting for our love of the 1000 Hours Outside movement. Some of these are old favorites and some are in our baskets this year. Pick a few of these items, add in a chocolate bunny or a few peeps, and your outdoorsy kid is good to go!

Headlamp four pack S’more skewers 7 Function Multi-tool Seek and Find game

Hot Hands Wildflower seed mix Magical Flames to color your fire Collapsible water bottle

Quick tip–if you have multiple kids, I always unpackage and divvy up items like the Magic Flame or the s’mores skewers to keep it budget friendly. Or just look for items that come in bulk like the headlamps!

Happy Easter, everyone!
