After several weeks of no change, this is a big one! The book suggests that many babies are ready for 12 hours of sleep without waking to eat by 12 weeks old.

We went “by the book” and dropped the dream feed at week 12 for each boy.

I don’t have sleep notes for any baby because once that dream feed was gone none of them looked back! It was 12 hour nights from then on out until about age 2 when we pushed bedtime til more like 7:30/7:45.

Here is what the schedule looked like (more or less) for all of them:

7:00 – baby wakes up (or you wake them), feed, then wake time

8:15-10:00 – nap

10:00 – baby wakes (or you wake them), feed, then wake time

11:15-1:00 – nap

1:00 – baby wakes (or you wake them), feed, then wake time

2:15-4:00 – nap

4:00 – baby wakes (or you wake them), feed, then wake time

evening is random for us maybe fussy, maybe happy, maybe a cat nap, maybe awake the whole time. By 6:30 usually starting the bedtime routine bath/lotion/sound machine/story/etc

7:00 – feed then straight to bed

And then they sleep 12 hours!

Seriously after 1 baby I completely understood people saying I was lucky. After 2 babies that irked me a little bit because I had tried really hard for my good sleepers, but I figured it could still be luck.

After our third baby sleeping 12 hours at 12 weeks to the day just like the other two did….I don’t think it’s luck.

I think it’s Babywise !!

No crying it out, no habits to break, no waking in the middle of the night for years. I just can’t recommend it enough.

Thanks for anyone who cared to follow along, I hope this helped anyone out there looking for a method for baby sleep!
