Remember when we bought a camper almost 3 months ago and I thought I could whip it into shape in my spare time and her have ready in a month?

hahaha….me too

Actually you would think that having a stay at home order would have given my plenty of time on this project. It just so happened to be the busiest work month I’ve had in my working life…so camper was on the back burner.

We still had some weekend nap times and evenings as it started staying light out longer and I DARE say this is the home stretch. As she stands now it’s just needs a faux ship lap application, more stick on subway tile to come in, for me to finish painting the shower walls and bathroom sink annnnd maybe a few more general finishing touches before we can camp!

I have removed painting the exterior from my immediate wish list and think we may get to that this fall or if we just end up with some time and inspiration one weekend this summer.

Check out the progress:

HUGE shout out to my aunt who can sew anything and literally whipped up the 4 dinette cushions and a sofa slipcover in maybe 2 total hours. Probably even faster. Not to mention she let us use this pretty fabric she had on hand from her own couch!

Okay this is kind of a sad picture because wallpaper was a huge part of my plan until it turns out…

Wallpaper and Taylor are like oil and water. I wasted $30 and couldn’t bring myself to just order another roll and potentially end up wasting $60 or $90 so I cut my losses and free handed using leftover paint.

As you can see this was rough going at first. It’s hard to look at up close! But there was no going back so I did this on 3 accent walls and there it will remain.

From a distance it’s actually really cute and I’ve decided the technical term is “whimsical” not “wonky” so…moving on to things that went well.

The table before was fine but when a roll of marble contact paper is so cheap it’s fun to punch it up! This was much easier to apply.

Yes you can see a seam and yes corners are a little messy but this was a must-do upgrade for a camper! I wouldn’t be all about this in my actual kitchen but I am definitely going to try it for other projects.

Major credit to my husband for doing all the not so glamorous work I’m not showing off. He has been on the roof repairing/replacing hood vents and sealing this thing up to ensure no more water damage!

Look at this Aldi haul! If you have a camper or cabin or something you need to stock, I found blankets, a door mat, an outdoor rug, a table, a tablecloth, annnnd I am probably going back to for an extra sheet set and bed pillows.

I also grabbed toiletries, paper plates and plastic utensils, foil, etc at Aldi so our camper is starting to fill up and it’s so exciting!

Stay tuned…I plan to not only start blogging again but to also have the inside of our camper finished by the end of the month. Hopefully 🙂
