On the off chance that you were planning on dressing up as a witch this October…

This is such a random post…but I have been struggling lately to come up with posts that aren’t directly related to new baby Henry!

Then last night I was reminded that I need to be looking for some witch inspired clothing for a party I have coming up next month and I started filling up my Amazon cart with ideas.

My Bunco group is having one of those murder mystery parties with a witch theme and we are dressing the part, too! In my head I want to pull off some sort of subtly witchy Sandra Bullock in Practical Magic vibes. Although I may lean on a Hocus Pocus t-shirt (I bought two from this list).

Either way, I thought it would be fun to round up some great finds for anyone looking for a full on witch costume or just a few pieces that lean a little witch-like for a Halloween party.

Between this, the boys Halloween costumes that I haven’t started on because Tom has changed his mind every day for a month, and the Aldi finds I still need to decorate the front porch with….I’d say you can at least expect some Halloween content on here along with my baby sleep tracking.

Here are some of the pieces I’m contemplating for witch costume inspiration:

1. This lacy black dress with black booties and a hat…glam, fancy witch! Super simple…and the great reviews and a great price don’t hurt either.

2. Loving the Hocus Pocus feel of this long velvet cape/cloak. It comes in tons of colors to choose from! This is another option with tons of great reviews and an affordable price tag.

3. Why settle on one black choker when you can score this set of 10?! Share with some friends this Halloween for a perfect accent to your witch costumes.

4. Are big bell sleeves witchy? This feels witchy to me. Paired with a flowy skirt or black pants…I think it would work!

5. So this is not something I’d ever wear otherwise, but it seems like the perfect statement necklace for a witch so it’s hanging out in my cart for now!

6. This is my pick for channeling Practical Magic. Add a hat and the moon necklace or choker. I could actually wear this dress again for other things which is always a perk.

7. Of course this list wouldn’t be complete without a hat, but I have been struggling to find a plain classic style. I’m pretty sure I have one somewhere in my kids’ costume tubs, but this wool “modern witch” option keeps coming up in searches and it really is kind of cute.

8. There are endless lacy glove/arm warmer options on Amazon that would be perfect for a witch costume! I especially like these with the spider web detail for Halloween.

9. Who says you need to wear black? This dress in both the cream and grey color reminds me of the Aunts on Practical Magic…seems I keep coming back to that movie but it is THE best!

10. How easy would it be to pull off a Wicked Witch look by just adding these striped tights to any black dress in your closet?

11. This flowy black skirt looks like a great witch wardrobe option. It is the one I am thinking of pairing with one a Hocus Pocus graphic t-shirt.

12. My go-to black booties bit the dust last year so I’ve been wanting to buy some new ones any way. I won’t go full on witch but these basic booties with cut outs are so cute, costume or not!

13. I’d love to be able to pull off this cape/trench combo in my regular wardrobe…but it’s also a cute choice for a sort of chic witch costume too!

I can’t wait to blog about our witchy mystery party and show you what all everyone came up with!
