A Few of Our Favorite Things: 2020

We did it again! One of my favorite get-togethers with my Bunco group is our Christmas Favorite Things party. I blogged about our first one here.
After a poll (lol) we changed up the format a little bit this year so I wanted to share the differences. There are 12 of us total and last year everyone purchased eleven $8 gifts so every person left with a favorite thing from every guest!
This year, to simplify a bit and allow us to buy nicer things, each person just bought three of the same $25 items that was a favorite thing of theirs. We drew names so everyone left with three more expensive “favorite things”, just not one of everything.
It worked great! I put everyone’s name down on a piece of paper three times then we took turns drawing (virtually or in person this year) the three people you would give your gift to.
I actually loved this gift exchange both ways so it’s totally up to you—there are several ways to make it work.
If you have some Christmas money burning a hole in your pocket I wanted to share these 12 items that were all a huge hit. We seem to have all been in a self-care type mode!
Some of these links are affiliate links, some are not, but don’t worry, you won’t pay anything extra by using these links if you decide to treat yourself:
- this silk pillowcase (and gift card to Scooter’s coffee)
- this lipstick trio
- GlamGlow with this handy applicator
- this charcuterie board and utensils
- this comfy blanket in a now sold out champagne bottle print (custom embroidered for our bunco group!)
- a bottle of Mieomi Pinor Noir and these Woodford Reserve soaked cherries
- this make up eraser and Mary Kay lipstick
- these absorbent scrunchies and Thrive mascara
- this moisturizer
- Jacyln Hill eye palette (she scored on major sale, part of the fun of shopping on a set budget!)
- a gift card to our local coffee shop, Parengo
- this weighted eye mask and an Antique Candle Co candle
I always love finding new “favorite things” and this gift exchange is perfect for that. You can keep it broad or have a specific theme such a beauty finds, accessories, etc.
I definitely recommend trying this for your next gift exchange. It would be a fun party any time of the year.
As always, thanks for reading!
