June 2019 Blog Income Report
Blog income continues to trickle in and I continue to strive towards making some substantial side income in this field. In an ideal world, I could earn $500 a month and the majority of it be passive income.
I have no problem hustling out some freelance income as well, but how cool would it be if most of the money came from something a little less time intensive—ads and affiliate income. Maybe some sponsored posts thrown in.
So, with that goal of 500/month (or $6000 a year! How awesome would that be for the Dave Ramsey snowball?!), I keep putting one foot in front of the other.
June was a great month—it’s my second month to see income over $200! I did have a vacation smack dab in the middle that caused a slight decrease in activity both on my blog and my freelance writing. I am still working on landing a sponsored post and getting better ad income.
Here is the exact breakdown for June 2019:
Affiliate Income: $16.92 (Amazon is still my only affiliate link to convert)
Ad Income: $0 (technically not zero but again I don’t get paid until I hit $100)
Sponsored Post: $0
Freelancing: $186
Total: $202.92
Of course I’d like for the majority to be ads and affiliate because of the more passive nature, but I am proud I found the freelance work and got my monthly income up to a 2nd highest point for the year!
If you are new to my blog, I actually didn’t make money at all the first 9 months. I received a few products in exchange for review but nothing steady. So starting in 2019 I decided to focus on income and create these income reports.
Maybe one day I’ll be able to write one of those posts:
“how my blog went from making $200 a month to $2000 a month in just 6 months!”
A blogger can dream!
