It’s been a really long time since I’ve blogged!
You’d think his whole social distancing thing and spending every moment at home would have me blogging more, but I feel busier than normal. I guess I am busier than normal and tons of you are right there with me.
I’m fortunate to be able to perform the bulk of my work from the safety of my own home, but that 40 hours of work is not exactly easy to come by when the kids’ are out of school. The juggling doesn’t leave much time for Easter prep, am I right?
How many of you feel like this Easter snuck up on us? I hope it wasn’t just me. Pair that with that fact that you can’t exactly go strolling the aisles of TJ Maxx or Walmart or Target or ANYWHERE to browse the Easter candy or toys…and you might be feeling unprepared.
There’s always online shopping. But if you haven’t noticed yet–shipping times are pushed out on tons of Amazon items in order for them to be able to prioritize more essential deliveries.
So if you’ve found yourself here within a week of Easter and can’t snag a Walmart pick up slot, there are still some Prime options coming through with a little hunting.
But first–if you know of any local businesses who have modified and are now doing deliveries or curb side pick up, this is a great time to shop local and support those who have had to shut down business as usual!
For any other last minute items you can still grab:
Card games – for all our time at home I’m excited to teach our boys Go Fish and Old Maid
Kinetic sand – I will admit we’ve never done this! I bet we will have it opened by Sunday afternoon though!
Sand art – Okay this kit came up when I was looking for kinetic sand and I had a flash back to my 90’s self wearing one of those sweet homemade sand necklaces that inevitably got all mixed up.
Umbrella – great for going out in your own yard and getting some fresh air in any weather! Even though the point of playing in the rain is to get soaked, my kids seem to love their own umbrellas
Books – I thought this classic Tale of Peter Rabbit board book was a steal. For a baby this Moses book is SO cute. And for older kids I love all the National Geographic Kids options
Stuffed bunnies – seem to be going fast but this little guy isn’t back-ordered yet and so sweet.
Baby things- This colorful caterpillar and this teether set are perfect for a baby’s first Easter
Busy items – Early elementary school kids would love this Tape Activity book…great for when you are on a conference call 🙂
I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter!
I know it will be very different for many of us, but that’s no reason not to celebrate (actually it’s even more reason to celebrate) the Easter season and focus on hope and life!
