Does anyone else feel like watching Meg Ryan movies starting about now or is that just me?

There’s You’ve Got Mail with all its “New York in the fall” glory. “Bouquets of freshly sharpened pencils,” chic turtlenecks, Thanksgiving gatherings and whatnot. It’s been one of my favorite movies for forever!

I still remember watching for the first time in 4th grade during an overnight Girl Scout trip. We rented in the hotel room and I knew I loved it. I wonder how many times I’ve watched it since….50? 100?! Hard to say, but a part of me will always want to be as cool as Kathleen Kelly, owning a little book shop.

There’s When Harry Met Sally with it’s gorgeous outdoor scenes in streets covered with fall foliage. Just the movie cover alone will make you want to frolic around in the leaves with a fall blazer and hat.

This movie is another big advocate for New York in the fall. I’ve never been to New York City, but if I did go I can’t imagine choosing any other time to visit– thanks to these movies.

Rounding out my favorite Meg Ryan trilogy is Sleepless in Seattle. Sure it starts on Christmas Eve (harses, harses, harses) and wraps on Valentines Day, but it has that cozy fall/winter vibe and wardrobe once again.

Side note, I always wanted to be able to rock a loose topsy-tail hairstyle like she does in this movie but it seems impossible to pull off!

Anyway, the fall/cold weather vibes make these three movies a must watch for me as soon as it gets pretty chilly outside–which brings me to the point of this blog post.

I’ve seen the image of Meg Ryan’s Annie Reed sitting on the bed in this effortlessly comfy cool grey sweat suit come up on Instagram and Pinterest at least 3 times in the past few weeks.

Eventually I decided I needed one for myself.

How can a woman who just flew across the country to stalk a man she’s never met and that she’s only heard on a call-in radio show look so comfy and chill? It has to be the sweats.

So I hunted Amazon for something reminiscent of the ensemble. I struck out on color. I think what she wears is more oatmeal than grey, but I didn’t have much luck finding it.

I did find 3 contenders for this 2020 winter that is sure to include plenty of time lounging around your own home.

Check them out! But also ignore my 80% complete tile job.

I have a pretty short torso, so this one wasn’t really cropped that much. The pants had some structure, you could wear this more places than on the couch.

While something in heathered oatmeal was impossible to find, tie dye was impossible to avoid! I decided to give it a shot for a more current look and it’s really cute on.

This one ended up being my favorite! It runs a little on the larger side, but is comfy light weight. I could work on my tall sock game some, but his felt the coziest.

What is your go-to lounge wear?! I’ve really been wanting to clear out older ratty pajama pants and mismatched loungewear for cuter sets.

Also for all you Meg Ryan fans out there, I’ll Have What She’s Having was a fun interesting behind the scenes look at these movies. Great for you or to gift!
