Babywise With a Nine Week Old
Henry turning 9 weeks old marked the start of my last month at home with him. It was the first time I’ve still been on maternity leave while I had a baby sleeping through the night and it was so nice to be well-rested!
Maybe sleeping through the night was what finally gave me the will-power to potty train Tom 🙂 He went cold turkey on big boy underwear nigh and day starting Nov 1 and it took some major time and patience. Sam took too it in 3 days. Tom was a solid 3 weeks til he let go of this battle of wills!
Anyway…this is not a potty training blog because Lord knows I did not know what I was doing with that!
Here are the sleep notes I have for each baby the week they were 9 weeks old:
Sam

Sam’s days at daycare were pretty consistent but his wake time was not yet. During 9 weeks old my notes show he slept all night but woke in the morning at 6:30 two times, 5:40 once, 6:00 once and 4:30 another two times.
We just kept on with the 3 hour eating schedule (7/10/1/4/7/10:30 dream feed) and this period of questionable start times in the morning didn’t last long.
Tom

Not too sure how Tom’s consistency was. Sam was almost 2 and it was December and I was newly back to work…pretty sure we were in survival mode 🙂
I do know he was sleeping 8 hours I just don’t know if it was every day or if his wake times varied like Sam man.
Henry

Henry was really a dream as a nine week old. Once he started sleeping all night at 8 weeks he never went back. He woke between 6:30 and 7:00 every day during this week other than once at 5:45 when he had peed through a diaper.
We quickly learned that if we changed his diaper at the dream feed, he would sleep til 7:00! It’s not ideal to change and wake them up at 10:30 but we have stuck with it a few weeks.
I’ll be posting week 10 today too! Time sure is flying by!
